Photography Tips

Composition:

-Process hows things are arranged
-How things are photographed
-How things are placed and framed
-How things are made
-How people are in the environment
-Notice the surroundings
First rule: Shoot tight and keep empty space to a minimum
  -ex: high jumper
         Professor playing his guitar
         Football player during a pregame
Second Rule: Shoot sharp and hold the camera still
   -ex: Softball shot (back shot)
          Softball game (front shot)
          Fireworks
Third Rule: Use different angles
   -ex:  Student studying (higher angle)
           Student in the library
           Tiger walk
Fourth Rule: Use different camera lenses
   -ex: Rowing team
          Shrimp boats
          Clemson football game, military appreciation
Fifth Rule: Be aware of the light
   -ex: Sunset shot on the lake
          Late afternoon of back side of the buildings
          Sunset at the beach
Sixth Rule: Rule of "thirds"
   -ex: Professor and student working out in the field
          Fall scene
          Baseball Player
Pats Tips:
- Take more than one shot
- Carry media cards
- Carry a lot of batteries
- Set your clock
- keep image resolution high
- Experiment with light settings
- Carry lens tissue
- Make notes
